  • Obverse: Design in blue. In the center, the denomination in words "CUATROCIENTOS BOLIVARES" surrounded by the payment clause "El Banco Caracas pagara al portador en dinero efectivo a la presentacion de este billete" «Banco Caracas will pay to the bearer in cash upon presentation of this banknote». On the top, the issuer name "BANCO CARACAS", "COMPAÑÍA ANÓNIMA" and the legend of the capitalization amount "CAPITAL B. 6.000.000". On the bottom, the signatures zone. Above, the date filling space "Caracas, _____ de 189__". On the left, allegorical of a seated woman. In each corner the denomination value "400".
  • Reverse: Design in red. In the center, allegorical of the Justice with an scale and sword surrounded by the issuer name "BANCO CARACAS", "COMPAÑÍA ANÓNIMA" and the capitalization amount. On each side, the denomination value "400" within a guilloche.
  • Production information: August 1890: 2000 pieces (serie A4, interval A3000 - A4999), March 1891: 1000 pieces (serie B4, interval B5000 - B5999).
  • Design variations in the obverse: From Design A, Type A, the title of the signers.
  • Signatures: "Presidente del directorio" «chairman» and "Gerente" «Manager»
