Characteristics

  • Identification Code: bbdv1000bs-ca
  • Obverse: In the center, portrait of Simon Bolivar inside an oval from unknown author. On each side, the denomination value "1000" within a guilloche. Below, the legend "VALE POR", the denomination in words "UN MIL BOLIVARES" and the payment clause "que se pagarán al portador en Carácas á la presentacion" (payable to bearer in Caracas upon presentation). On the top, the issuer name "BANCO DE VENEZUELA", amount of signatures and the legend of the capitalization amount "CAPITAL B/21.000.000". On the left and on the right, allegorical of horses and cowboys. On the bottom, over a background in light-blue, the signatures zone. In upper corners the denomination value "1000". On the left, below of the allegorical of horses and cowboys, the date filling space.
  • Reverse: Design in blue. In the center, inside a circle Coat of Arms with the motto "INDEPENDENCIA", "LIBERTAD", "5 DE JULIO 1811", "28 DE MARZO 1864" and "DIOS Y FEDERACION". On each side, the denomination value "1000". Above and below of the Coat of Arms, the issuer name "BANCO DE VENEZUELA".
  • Production information: March 1926: 5000 pieces (serie 4, interval 1001 - 6000)
  • Design variations in the obverse: From Design B, Type A changes underprint color to brown and yellow.
  • Signatures: "Por el Banco de Venezuela" (p.p. Banco de Venezuela) and "Por el Banco de Venezuela" (p.p. Banco de Venezuela)
