Characteristics

  • General: Circular shape with continous grained edge.
  • Obverse: Circular rim with dentacles beading. In the right field, inside a frame, bust of Simon Bolivar facing left, with "SIMON BOLIVAR" below the frame. On the left field: "1975", "AÑO DE LA", "NACIONA-", "LIZACIÓN", "DEL", "PETRÓLEO".
  • Reverse: Circular rim with dentacles beading. On the left field, inside a frame, two towers over the Maracaibo Lake. On the right field "REPUBLICA DE VENEZUELA" «Republic of Venezuela» and the face value "500 BOLIVARES". In the exergue the weight "18 GRAM.", the year "1975" and the metallic millesimal fineness "LEY 900".
