General: Multicolor design with yellow, black and cyan as predominant colors.
Obverse: Design with portrait orientation. On the top, "REPÚBLICA BOLIVARIANA DE VENEZUELA" «Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela». Below, the denomination value "100", the denomination in words "CIEN MIL BOLÍVARES" «hundred thousand», the date, the payment clause "PAGADEROS AL PORTADOR EN LAS OFICINAS DEL BANCO" «Payments to the Bearier in the Offices of the Bank» and the signers. At right, watermarks zone. On the bottom, portrait of Simon Bolivar, the diplomatic, based on the painting by Rita Matilde de la Peñuela (AITA) done in 1860, with the denomination value "100". The serial numbers are located at upper right and bottom left rotated 90 degrees clock-wise.
Reverse: Design with landscape orientation. In the center, over the field Black-hooded Red Siskin (Carduelis cucullata) with Avila Hill as background. On the right, watermarks zone. On the top left, the issuer name "BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA" «Central Bank of Venezuela». On the left, Coat of Arms. On the bottom right, the denomination value "100" and the denomination in words "CIEN MIL BOLÍVARES" «hundred thousand».
Some security elements: Diving holographic security thread in 4 windows with "BCV 100", "BCV 100", "BCV 100" and "BCV 100" (in front of light); watermarks, invisible ink (ultraviolet), see-through perfect print registration. On the obverse "100" on the top with Optically Variable Ink (OVI) and latent image "100" on the bottom.
Watermark: "BCV" and portrait of Simon Bolivar by Philippe Froesch.
Variations: Use the same security thread of Design A, Type A in 4 windows, removed secondary security thread, and have the same watermarks portrait with minor variations of Design A, Type B.
Research comments: There are serial reports that are being studied to determine their proper behavior and cataloging. Some of these pieces have serie starting with Z000302XX-Z000312XX.
