Characteristics from Design A, Type B

  • General: Multicolor design with brown and orange as predominant colors.
  • Obverse: Design with portrait orientation. On the top, "REPÚBLICA BOLIVARIANA DE VENEZUELA" «Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela». Below, the denomination value "2000", the date, the denomination in words "DOS MIL BOLIVARES" «two thousand Bolívares», the payment clause "PAGADEROS AL PORTADOR EN LAS OFICINAS DEL BANCO" «Payments to the Bearier in the Offices of the Bank» and the signers. At right, watermarks zone. On the bottom, portrait of Guaicaipuro by Pedro Centeno Vallenilla, with the denomination value "2000" below. The serial numbers are located at upper right and bottom left rotated 90 degrees clock-wise.
  • Reverse: Design with landscape orientation. In the center, over the field American Harpy Eagle (Harpia harpyja) with Ucaima Falls, and Venado and Kurún Tepui as background. On the right, watermarks zone. On the top left, the issuer name "BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA" «Central Bank of Venezuela». On the left, Coat of Arms. On the bottom right, the denomination value "2000" and the denomination in words "DOS MIL BOLIVARES" «two thousand Bolívares».
  • Some security elements: diving holographic security thread in 4 windows with "BCV", "BCV", "BCV" and "BCV" (in front of light); watermarks, invisible ink (ultraviolet) and see-through perfect print registration. On the obverse, latent image "BCV" on the bottom.
  • Watermark: "BCV" and portrait of Simon Bolivar by Philippe Froesch.
  • Design variations: From Design A, Type A, the denomination value "2000" (on the top, obverse) without Optically Variable Ink (OVI), changes the security thread and watermarks.
  • Note: The only issue of this type (18 Agosto 2016) has an error. There is a signers error or issue date error due to incoherence beween both.
