  • Obverse: Design in red and brown. In the center, portrait of Simon Bolivar by Juan Lovera. On the right,, coat of arms of the Bolívar Family. In the center,, the value "5000" with the denomination in words "CINCO MIL BOLÍVARES" «five thousand Bolívares» above and the payment clause "PAGADEROS AL PORTADOR EN LAS OFICINAS DEL BANCO" «Payments to the Bearier in the Offices of the Bank» below. On the left, watermarks zone. On the top left, the issuer name "BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA" «Central Bank of Venezuela». In each corner except the bottom left corner, the value "5000". The serial numbers are located at upper right and bottom left of the banknote. The first "C" letter in "CINCO MIL" (in the center) is printed using a optic-shift ink. Between the portrait and the coat of Arms of the Bolívar Family, a security printing with "V" as latent image.
