  • General: Circular shape with continous grained edge.
  • Obverse: Circular rim without beading. In the center, over the field, within a concentric circle, bust of Dr. José María Vargas by Martín Tovar y Tovar. Surrounding the field, the legend "BICENTENARIO DEL NACIMIENTO DE JOSE MARIA VARGAS" on top and "1786-1986" in the bottom.
  • Reverse: Circular rim without beading. In the center, over the field,within a concentric circle, front of the old Universidad de Caracas. Surrounding the field, the legend "REPUBLICA DE VENEZUELA" «Republic of Venezuela» on the top; the face value "100 BOLIVARES" the metallic millesimal fineness "LEY 900" and the weight "31,10 gms" on the bottom.
